Course Objective

The aim is to support the students academically for their artistic studies in the field they want to specialize, and have them make some pattern designs and practices.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   reach the resources related to the rug and plain weaving,
2   cite the information in the resources in accordance with their own fields,
3   determine the design features of the samples related to the region they will work on,
4   make original designs related to the subject they will study on,
5   foresee the output form of the pattern design they have planned.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

In this course, after a scanning the books and articles about the region, local weavings will be analyzed technically and in an artistic way, and original designs related to the region will be made.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

The students studies are evaluated as a project and they will perform these studies before a jury. Their presentation performance and studies will be evaluated separately.

Assessment Criteria

The project and the presentation will be evaluated out of 100 separately. The 60 % of the grade given to the project and the 40 % of the presentation will determine the pass grade.

Course Policies and Rules

The compulsory attendance is 80%.
Before the end of the term, in the last 15 days, students will be able to learn their attendance. Students having absenteeism over 80% won t be accepted to the final exam.
At the end of each course, the next lesson s subject is given to the students as study and research subject. So, students come to the next lesson ready.
Students who are on sick leave will be considered absent.
