Course Objective

The aim is to support the students academically for their artistic studies in the field they want to specialize, and have them make some pattern designs and practices in addition to `Certificate Study'.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   make original carpet designs suitable for the technique,
2   foresee the output form of the pattern design they have planned,
3   choose suitable materials for their design patterns,
4   prepare design pattern file,
5   represent their designs effectively.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

In this course, students realize original design patterns for carpet weaving technique and materials in accordance with their thesis subject. During this study, their work is debated over and they are guided necessarily.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

The students' studies are evaluated as a project and they will perform these studies before a jury. The student's attendance and class performance will also be evaluated by the instructor's satisfaction.

Assessment Criteria

The project and the presentation will be evaluated out of 100 separately. The 80% of the project grade and the 20% of the attendance will determine the pass grade.

Course Policies and Rules

The compulsory attendance is 80%.
Before the end of the term, in the last 15 days, students will be able to learn their attendance. Students having absenteeism over 80% won t be accepted to the final exam.
Students who are on sick leave will be considered absent.
