Course Objective

The aim of this course is to make new tile pattern designs by making use of tile motifs
to be able to instruct the types and periods of tile patterns.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

This course is both theoretical and practical (applied). In the lesson, new design
compositions from tile motifs will be introduced by drawing on paper and how to use
them in production will be instructed.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

Because of being both theoretical and applied course, it is planned to give one mid
term and one final exam related to the theoretic lecture notes given before and during
the lessons. Also, the students are supposed to prepare a file including his new
designs with tile motif and compositions; this file is also evaluated

Assessment Criteria

Exams will be evaluated out of 100. This grade will be determined according to the
number of the questions to be asked in the exams. The presentation of the file
containing drawings will also be evaluated out of 100.

Turkish

Course Policies and Rules

The students coming to class late will be accepted into the class but are considered
to attend half class period. All attendance will be scored as mentioned above. At the
end of each course, the next lesson s subject is given to the students as study and
research subject. Each lesson starts after discussing the study and research subject
before teaching it.
