Course Objective

It is aimed that students create their scenarios through their original stories by conducting creative practices according to main technical information in scenario writing. Our first aim is to orientate students towards a research on the concept of "theme" which is one of the main stones and basic concepts of dramatic structure and then to make them create their own short film scenarios accordingly. Finding ideas, original and creative stories are important parts of producing a film and practicing how to write scenario, so our aim is to be able to accomplish this process which creates the highline of film production.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Create their own original scenarios on creative works,
2   Create firstly an article based on science, arts and observation starting from the concept of "theme" and arrive at a story by using abstraction method
3   Transform a story extracted from a scientific article into a scenario,
4   Create a film story through given concepts in a limited time by practical works,
5   Write original and creative scenarios/stories which is one of the most important requirements in the sector,

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

First to create a story and then a scenario through "theme" which is the main stone of dramatic structure.
To know and conceptualise chosen theme from ground up by methodology of scientific research.
Participation, discussion and brainstorming as a part of interactive learning process. Brainstorming, discussion and criticizing on a story in the class.
Participation in class.
To conduct creative workshops in class, their evaluation and discussion.
