Course Objective

Cinema Aesthetics I course has been opened as a common and theoretical lesson for all departments of Department of Film Design.
The aim, content and expected contribution to the students of this course is as follows:
Students taking this course are expected to
1. define the `reality in cinema and comment it in accordance with historical and social aspects
2. define `cinematic reality and explain the facilities of Epical aesthetics emerged as the opposite of Classical aesthetics
3. define epic expression using B. Brecht s aesthetic concept, and identify, give meaning and compare the sharp difference in cinema.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   define the `reality in cinema and explain `reality concept and comment it in accordance with historical and social aspects
2   define and exemplify `cinematic reality , indicate and compare the `reality concepts
3   . identify the facilities of Epical aesthetics emerged as the opposite of Classical aesthetics, and list them comparatively, compare them by indicating the differences
4   define and analyse the films by B. Brecht s Aesthetic Concept, give examples
5   . define epical expression and classify its difference from classical expression and give examples.
