Course Objective

INFECTIOUS DISEASES AND PREVENTION
The aim of the course is to recognize frequent community and hospital infections and to
gane knowledge about infections to protect people and envirenment.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to describe the infection process (chain) and agents
2   To be able to describe and differentiate the community and hospital-acquired
3   To be able to differentiate respiratory, bloodsream, gastrointestinal, and
4   To be able to have knowledge about hand hygiene and to be able to choose the
5   To be able to implement isolation procedures to the exact patients or infections
6   To be able to accomodate hospital cleaning and waste disposal principles
7   To be able to describe risk management for percutaneous injuries
8   To be able to implement adult vaccination program
