Course Objective

It is aimed to enable the students to learn about the transformation and development
process noted by Turkish culture in historical timeline and by conducting research, to
access the necessary information about the cultural elements of Turkish history and
identify the references related to the topic.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to perform a general analysis on lifestyles of the Turks within the historical process.
2   To be able to outline the development stages of the Turkish culture
3   To be able to express opinion about the elements that contribute to the formation of culture.
4   To be able to list the people that shaped the Turkish intellectual life
5   To be able to discuss about what kind of change occurs during the interaction between the Turks and the West
