Course Objective

The aim of this course is to equip the student with technical and coordination skills by conducting the voice and breathing excercises required for becoming a professional opera singer. Through the study of a repertoire comprised of pieces from various periods and composers that are suitable for the student's voice type, the course aims at the practical development of the student's technical knowledge and cognisance of style.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Can vocally interpret the work in the style appropriate for its period.
2   Can provide coordination of voice and breath.
3   Can perform voice exercises which are appropriate for his own voice type.
4   Can exhibit his acquired opera culture performing in different locations.
5   Can improve tone, intonation, agility and articulation control.
