Course Objective

To impart the theoretical and practical skills associated with both individual instruments and instruments in ensemble groups.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Will be able to define the basic theoretical knowledges relating to the string instruments such as violin, viola, violoncello and double bass
2   Will be able to identify the special effects on the strings by defining the terms of the notation.
3   Will be able to analyze the music piece which is piano reductioned and adapt strings group
4   Will be able to apply the fundamental principles associated with homophonic and polyphonic writing for string instruments;
5   Will be able to compose original works for solo string instrument or string ensemble
