Course Objective

The class aims to have the students question the concept of space from multiple points of wiev in order to come up with pictorial and visual solutions and realize monumental mural painting applications.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   became experienced in finding solutions for making paintings on large surfaces
2   be able to take advantage of the power of painting that influences the masses
3   have the courage to create, owing to their experience in applications in open public spaces
4   be able to make professional executionsin public and private spaces
5   be effective in social responsibility projects by means of their experience in team work and sharing.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

1.Students are taught that visual problems can be solved to a great extend during project stage,by having them do scaled designs intended for large wall surfaces.
2.During the designing stage aimed for a chosen indoor space,students are provided with visual examples related to the subject, together with explanations.
3.Sketches intended for the design are mutually discussed and the final design to be included in the project presentation file is formed.
4.The project worthy of application is decided upon, and is brought to life with the spirit of team work.

Assessment Criteria

1.The scaled design to appear in the project presentation file has to provide solutions to surfaces that are large in scale.
2.The sociologial, psychologial and physical properties of the place that is intended for the application of a mural painting have to be taken into consideration.
3.During the execution stage; attendance. sharing,team spirit, constructive interaction with the environment and the performance aimed at the end result are taken into account.
