1   To be able to comprehend the working principle of analog camera.
2   To be able to classification of analogue cameras.
3   To be able to explain the effects of used filters on the photograhpy.
4   Using analogue equipment in accordance with its functions.
5   Explain the effect of the used lenses on the photo.
6   Apply alternative methods in analog photography.
7   Comprehend printing methods and principles

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 What is analog photography
2 The structure of the B.W. and color enlargers. Enlarger filters, multigrade enlargers and enlarger lenses (jampol lens etc).
3 The structure of the film, classification based on speeds. Historical development of ASA concept. Structure and types of print cards.
4 Pinhole making and computations.
5 Posometers; Structures, measurement methods of hand posemeter, (+) and (-) exposure in T.T.L pozometers.
6 Color formation, light propagation, reflection, dioptric. Intensity of light and color image, color temperature grade and light quality. Additive and subtractive color syntheses, color frequency (wave length) and color perspective.
7 B&W and color filters, their usege and features.
8 Lomography. Redscale technique and practice.
9 Classification of cameras; According to the films, the lens structures, and their posometers and visors.
10 Lenses; Focus distance cardinal points image formation, lens defects and elimination.
11 Lenses; Lens types, qualities, classifications and depth of field on the basis of diaphragm.
12 Rangefinder and telemetry working principles.
13 In a large format camera, belly motions and perspective correction principles.
14 Shutter operating systems.
