To give knowledge about propelling and shafting systems

1   Learning about propellers and propeller efficiency
2   Learning the propellers according to the ship types and understanding the resistance forces against ship movements
3   Knowledge about how to determine the load input to the propeller control
4   Learning about shafts-stern tube and understanding the basic principles of the regulation of the shaft system
5   Understanding of the principles and types of shaft system vibration
