Course Objective

Aims of this course are to teach nuclear medicine imaging and radionuclide therapy methods, as well as clinical indications and interpretation of images and acceptance tests and quality controls of both imaging systems and obtained images are also been planned to teach.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Being able to describe gamma probe used in Nuclear Medicine and to perform acceptance tests, calibration and quality control tests.
2   Being able to describe SPECT systems and to perform acceptance tests, calibration and quality control tests.
3   Being able to describe PET/BT and to perform acceptance tests, calibration and quality control tests.
4   Being able to check and control radiation protection procedures using SPECT and PET/BT.
5   Being able to describe radionuclide therapy applications and to check and control radiation protection procedures.
6   Being able to describe area monitor to use radiation dose measurement and to perform calibration and quality control tests.

2. Final examination and mid term examination will be evaluated by assay or test type examination technique.

2. The instructor has right to make practical quizzes. The scores obtained from these practical quizzes will be assed directly adding to homeworks and mid-term scores.
