Course Objective

Multidisciplinary treatment of cancer within the Radiation Oncology replaced by understanding, identifying and locating understanding of radiation oncology

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Capable of express in general terms the radiation oncology.
2   Be able to recognize and understand the role of radiation oncology in the role of cancer treatment and molecular mechanisms
3   Understands methods of application examples of Radiation Therapy.
4   Knows and understands applying the general methods used in radiation oncology
5   Be able to criticize and plan and radiation oncology studies.

1 Biological principles of clinical radiotherapy Learn biological basis of RT
2 Fractionation and clinical importance Learns different fractionations schemes in RT including classical, hypo, hyper, CHART
3 The effects of radiation on normal tissues Learns effects of ionosing radiation on normal tissure and treatment related side effects
4 Physical rules in radiotherapy Learns basic radiation physics
5 Radiotherapy Machines Learns different types radiotherapy machines delivering ionising radiation with External beam and brachytherapy
6 Radiotherapy technic: From 2D to 4D Learns different radiotherapy technic
7 Treatment planning in Radiotherapy Learns radiotherapy treatment planning before delivery of radiation
8 Dosimetry in EBRT Learns radiotherapy dosimetry with different type of radiation
9 Brachytherapy Learns different types of brachytherapy applications including interstitiel and plesio brachytherapy
10 Targeted radiotherapy Learns radionuclid therapies as well as 3D conformal and IMRT
11 Optimal treatments of disease by type and localisations-I Learns radiotherapy of CNS, heaed and neck, thoracic ans GIS system malignencies
12 Optimal treatments of disease by type and localisations-II Learns radiotherapy of GUS, pediatric tumors, special radiotherapy technics.
