Course Objective

To have knowledge about definition and history about toxicology, to learn basic concepts of toxicology, to know toxicity mechanism, to have knowledge abot toxicokinetic and toxicodynamic, to make risk assesment. To describe the laboratory methods in poisonings

2 Toxicokinetic and toxicodynamic
3 Poisons in workplace and risk evaluation
4 General principles approach to of acute poisonings (Gastrointestinal decontamination, laboratory, antidotes)
5 Heavy metal poisonings (Mercury, lead etc)
6 Toxic gases (carbonmonoxide, hydrogen sulphur)
7 Poisoning with caustics
8 Poisoning with cardiovascular toxins
9 Poisoning with antidepressants
10 Poisoning with analgesics (Paracetamol, salycylate)
11 Poisoning with sedative-hypnotics
12 Poisoning with antiepileptic drugs
13 Toxic plants
14 Poisoning with pesticides
