Course Objective

Understand antibiotics, antifungals, antiviral mechanisms and also the relation between pharmacokinetics / pharmacodynamic properties and efficiency of drugs. Can cope molecular mechanisms of resistance against antibiotics used in treatment and be able to describe resistance mechanism and their effects of clinical resistance patterns as well as antifungal, antimycobacterial and antiviral resistance mechanisms.Understand antibiotics, antifungals, antiviral mechanisms and also the relation between pharmacokinetics / pharmacodynamic properties and efficiency of drugs. Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to identify mechanisms of action of antibiotics and understand the importance of pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic properties of the antibiotics.
2   Be able to define the gene groups and specielized gene groups and elemnets which involved antibacterial resistancy.
3   Understand and apply methods which is used to detect responsible genes of resistancy
4   Mechanisms of action of antifungal agents and to associate with the resistance change related targets
5   Know that describe the basic principles of antiviral therapy and to associate with resistance mechanisms
