Course Objective

Determining media history in related social, cultural, technologic, politic developments. Researching and discussing mass media effect on formation of perception. Discussing printed and digital media tools affecting modernism and postmodernism communication.

1 The necessity and importance of communication for human as a social being.
2 The beginning of communication, the first communication tools, the invention of printing press and its cultural effects
3 The mass media and media concept
4 The invention of the moving letter system, the increase and cheapening of the paper production and its contribution to communication
5 The impact of French Revolution and the adoption of the press law
6 Print media, newspapers and photograph
7 Censorship and freedom of the press

9 First World War, propaganda, creating perception and radio-
10 The transceiver, telegraph and telephone- Cold War era and mass media devices
11 The emergence of television and its rapid development in the second half of 20th century
