Course Objective

It is aimed to teach the chronological technical changes by examining the evolution of architectural relief elements (mythological stage, acanthus, ranke, cymatium, etc.) encountered in the frieze and ornament sections of the architectural structures of Roman period.

1   To be able to understand the development of acanthus decoration
2   To be able to understand the development of ranke decoration
3   To be able to understand the development of cymatium decoration
4   To be able to understand the relief development and dating
5   To be able to recognize different types of architectural ornaments
6   To be able to distinguish between Hellenistic and Roman architectural ornaments
