Course Objective

To meet religious movements in Turkey from 1960s to date by utilizing sociological imagination and propose typology on contemporary religious movements.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   They will see religious movements since 1960s to date.
2   They will examine religion and social change in the context of Turkish modernization.
3   They will seek to develop typology on religious movements.
4   They will understand sociological theories on contemporary religious movements.
5   They will analyze functions of contemporary religious movements based on sociological imagination.
