Course Objective

At the end of this course the students can understand and explain that modernization
period from Ottoman state to republic, Kemalist thinking system and its concepts,
social and cultural changes in republic period, the factors which affected the Kemalist
thinking system, the comparison of modern characteristics of Kemalist system to
dogmatic ideologies, the current problems and Kemalist thinking system.

3   To able to compare Kemalist system to other ideological systems
4   To able to understand basic elements in Kemalist thinking system
