Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to achieve a necessary understanding of the mythoses of Mesopotamia, Egypt, Anatolia, Helen, and Rome in the Ancient Age, their effects on social, religious, and cultural life, and their contributions to the science of history.

1   The scientific literature on mythology
2   The definition of mythology and its relationships to History of Religions
3   The mythoses of Mediterranean, Anatolia, Asia Minor, Europe, and North Africa civilizations
4   The contributions of the mythoses to the research on political, cultural, social, and economical history
5   The examination of the daily life in the Ancient Age and modern times on the basis of the mythoses
6   The interpretation of the mythoses
7   Ability to identify the main symbols of gods and goddesses
