Course Objective

This elective course explores the worldwide development of religion related politics in recent years.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the epistemological and ontological debates on secularism and religion in world politics.
2   Have detailed knowledge of the evolution of religion-based politics worldwide since 1980s.
3   Evaluate the possible consequences of religion-based politics on world security and peace.
4   Develop the necessary skills to undertake academic research on topics that combine religion and politics worldwide.
5   Develop the necessary skills to discuss and make analytical arguments through classroom presentations on politics of religion
