Course Objective

This course aims to teach the student basic physiopathological subjects and concepts. In this course It is focused on thephysiopathologies of the most frequent diseases disordering the cell, organ, system functions. Students are taught about the basic physiopathological mechanisms which forms at the cell level. Students discuss on the organ and system function disorders and the symptoms presented with case examples by asking cause-effect questions. Students gain the ability in questioning the physiopathological changes in clinical situations and analyzing them by using his/her factual/conceptual learning he/she has had.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The student identifies normal cell organ and system functions.
2   The student explains the physiopathological mechanisms which are formed in cell organ and system functions.
3   The student shows the physiopathological process of the clinical symptoms given in the case examples
4   The student analyzes the physiopathology of the problems in clinical situations he/she meets.
5   The student assesses the results of the symptoms/diagnosis/laboratory and the related physiopathological mechanisms.

2 Gene-Environment-lifestyle Relation and the Most Frequent Diseases : the factors affecting the incidance of the disease in society, multifactorial genetic principles, lifestyle, environment and nature of genetic affects, frequent diseases
3 Cell Repair and Cancer; cance biology, cancer specifications and terminalogy, genetic base of cancer, gene and environment interaction, tumor invasion and metastesis, cancer invasion theories, clinical symptoms of cancer, cancer treatment and its adverse effects, cancer in children

Assessment Criteria

Every student will explain 2 or 3 discussion questions given in every department during the semester based on the actual literature and prepare a written homework/report in APA format and hand it in concerned instructor online/in written.
Expected qualifications of homeworks:
Institute, department, Course code, Course name, Name-surname-number of the students, name and surname of the instructor, deadline, and page number must be on the cover page.
The students are expected to explain 2-3 questions by using at least one fundamental book, one Turkish an done English research paper in their assignments.
The answers of the questions must respond to the questions What Why Where When How How much
Assignments must be written in APA format
Student uses schemas or pictures by using APA format
Assignment must be max. 4 pages along with the cover and resources page.
It must be included the student s self assessment.
