Course Objective

Learning of basic terminology about parasitology, parasites, their taxonomy, vectors, hostes, symbiotic living, host-parasite relationships

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Analyse medical importance of parasitism and parasitosis and recommend preventive medical advices to public
2   List and contrast taxonomy of parasites
3   Explain and investigate parasite- host relationship and its mechanism
4   Explain parasites epidemiology, vector potentials and routes of transmission and infer that on cases
5   Illustrate parasites nutrition and metabolism
6   Illustrate and relate the factors that affect parasites development and reproduction
7   Apply general diagnostic methods of parasitosis, interpret the results and integrate
8   Discuss and plan treatment and prevention principles of parasitosis

4 Structure of cell membrane, skeleton and moving organells in protozoa
5 Sitoplasmic organelles of protozoa and their properties
6 Morphologic and anatomic properties of helminthes
7 Morphologic and anatomic properties of arthropoda
8 Source of parasite, infectious route and bioecological properties in parasite
9 Progress and reproduction in parasite
10 Nutrition and metabolism in parasite
11 Parasitic adaptation and effects of adaptation factors
12 Parasite epidemiology and vectors
13 Host-parasite relationships, humoral and cellular responce of hosts
14 Mechanism of parasitic drugs
15 Prevention of parasites and effective methods of eradication
