Course Objective

To understand the role and importance of trace elements in biochemical pathways of human body, to learn the biochemical parameters which reflect the trace element status of the body and the laboratory methods to analyze the trace elemnts.

1   To understand the role and importance of tarce elements in biochemical reactions
2   To understand the effect of trace elements on metabolism
3   To understand the main principles of atomic spectroscopic techniques
4   To understand the main points of trace element analysis
5   To explain the metabolic changes related to deficiency or excess of trace elements
6   To evaluate the biochemical analysis in order to determine the trace element status
