Course Objective

To comprehend music theory on advanced level.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Realise figured bass with all types of chords, non-harmonic tones, altered chords and modulations. 2   Harmonize soprano with all types of chords, non-harmonic tones, altered chords and modulations. 3   Define properties of modal music. 4   Distinguish main aspects of tonal and modal counterpoint. 5   Analyse works composed with contrapuntal technique. 6   Explain species of counterpoint. 7   Compose tonal and modal contrpoint lines.
