Course Objective


To provide the knowledge of Watercolor technique and expression of feelings and thoughts with watercolor technique applications. To teach the transparency of watercolor technique and to use water which is necessary in watercolor technique and to be able to use dry and watery (wetting of paper) techniques in watercolor easily.



Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Knows the definition of watercolor.Knows the watercolor artists and works of art.
2   Can use watercolor techniques and can produce works with this technique.
3   Recognize and use Far East watercolor techniques and brushes.
4   Watercolor materials (brush-watercolor pen-sponge-pencil-water absorbing paper-silicone-based, paper removable primers) can recognize and use.
5   Watercolor techniques (Dry and Aqueous methods) can use together.

1 Definition, history of watercolor painting. Watercolor painting in Turkey. Watercolor materials and equipments, drawings and methods.
2 Transparency of watercolor technique and monochrome application.
3 Transparency of watercolor technique and monochrome application.

5 Transparency of watercolor technique and polichrome application.
6 Transparency of watercolor technique and polichrome application.
7 Presentation of Far East watercolor techniques and brushes and presentation of works.
8 midterm exam+lecture
9 Watercolor technique -dry method application and painting review.
10 Watercolor technique -dry method application and painting review.
