Course Objective

Information about the development processes of Contemporary Turkish Painting in and after 1940 and comparison of Turkish painting with other painting in other countries. Evaluating the contemporary Turkish painters and their works, making evaluations on the art groups and the understanding of art in Contemporary Turkish Painting.




Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Knows the main developments directed and effected 1940s Turkish painting, the attempts of localization, regionalization and become original.
2   Knows the tendencies of grouping in terms of turning to the roots, knows the groups of the Yeniler or Liman, Yeni Dal and Siyah Kalem .
3   Knows the main drifts under the light of the effect creating the contemporary Turkish painting.
4   Knows the general lines of Turkish painting after 1940s, main tendencies, the model of the classification, the painters of Istanbul area and Ankara area.
5   Knows the west side of Turkish painting, watercolor painting in Turkey and watercolor painters.
6   Knows printmaking in Turkish painting, the main developments in graphic design, graphic arts and printmaking.
7   Knows printmaking terms and signs, and the difference of original printmaking and reproductions.
8   Knows the techniques of printmaking.
