Course Objective

In this course students are in the process, the basic statistical concepts and techniques of scientific research achievements will receive the recognition and use.

1   Basic statistical information.
2   Recognize and use of statistical measures
3   To understand the link between scientific research and statistical process.
4   Scientific research related to the sampling process, the universe and understand the data collection processes.
5   Scientific research in the process of choosing appropriate statistical analysis techniques.
6   Application of statistical techniques in the process of scientific research.
7   In the process of statistical analysis to interpret the findings.
8   To use statistical package programs

Course Contents

1 Statistics and Research: Basic Concepts (variable, population, sample, etc.)
2 The scale types and characteristics.
3 Statistical Measures: Measures of Accumulation (mean, mode, median) usage.
4 Statistical Measures: Measures of dispersion (sd, range, quartile deviation, The standard normal distribution, standard scores.
5 Statistical Measures: Relationship Dimensions (the types of correlation)
6 Validity and reliability of the scales: Exploratory Factor Analysis, Alpha reliability.
7 Mid-term exam
8 Computer use and applications of statistics: SPSS (data entry, program, operating system)
9 Computer use and applications of statistics: TAP (data entry, program, operating system)
10 Differences Between Means Testing: T-Tests
11 Differences Between Means Testing: F Tests
12 Differences Between Means Testing: Post-Hoc Multiple Comparison Tests
13 Nonparametric Tests: Chi-square, U, KR, and Wilcoxson Tests
14 SPSS Package Program operation and reporting of results. TAP Package Program operation and reporting of results.
15 Final exam
