Course Objective

Aims to identify the location of calligraphy among the fine arts. Examines the historical development of the art of calligraphy. Aklam-ı sitte and introducing its significant examples.Famous calligraphers and their Works.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understands the intricacies of the art of calligraphy.
2   Recognizes the important types and works.
3   Will be able to contribute fully equipped of understanding the importance and protection of traditional handicrafts.
4   Meets with the problems of the field and gains the ability of critical thinking and point of view.
5   Gains the ability of re-interpreting and reproducing the knowledge which is learnt during the MA program.
