Course Objective

Aims to examine the development of Turkish decorative arts such as marbling, gilding, and calligraphy. Demonstrating the decorative programs . Examining the material and main examples.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Will have detailed information about the arts of calligraphy, illumination and marbling.
2   Recognizes the important examples and the materials used .
3   Will be able to contribute fully equipped of understanding the importance and protection of traditional handicrafts .
4   Meets with the problems of the field and gains the ability of critical thinking and point of view.
5   Gains the ability of re-interpreting and reproducing the knowledge which is learnt during the MA program.
