Course Objective

This course aims at providing the students with information on speech organs and phonological classification of sounds; providing crosslinguistic expamles related to major phonological patterns; enable the students to achieve introductory knowledge about the latest theories of phonology; and enable the students to use the phonological analysis software at the basic level.

8 Lab application: Praat software, the acoustic features of vowels

11 Stress: Word stress, phrase stress and sentence stress
