Course Objective

The objective of this course is to evaluate students' translation works with a critical approach based on theoretical background, and to understand the scientific criteria of critical approach by analyzing different translation criticism methods.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students will recognize the characteristics of a scientific criticism by linking theoretical approaches to translation criticism and practice.
2   Students will be able to use the concepts of translation studies within the scope of translation criticism.
3   Students will be able to discuss different criticism methods on concrete examples.
4   Students will be able to complete an independent critique.
