To comprehend advanced harmony, counterpoint, formal analyze technics with theoretical knowledge in historical period.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to reflect the importance of the sonata genre and the piano sonata literature of classical era composers through analysis
2   To be able to apply comparative analysis techniques to sonata-allegro and other musical forms
3   To be able to define the formal and textural structures of other classical era musical genres
4   To be able to analyze the function and importance of harmonic structure in the context of a complete musical work
5   To be able to compare and contrast musical forms
6   To be able to interpret the effects of formal elements and chord structures on the general structure of a musical work
