Course Objective

In this course, it is aimed to enable students to develop her/his awareness about patient security that is included within the quality in health, increase her/his knowledge and skills about this subject, assess health institutions in terms of patient security, guide in the constitution of the patient security culture, determine the risk factors about the patient security, discuss the development of the awareness of especially the notification and classification of medical mistakes, plan leadership in decreasing medical mistakes and all processes, comprehend the importance of worker s health and security, increase the awareness about the legal dimension of patient security and develop the thinking process aimed at great mistake reasons such as root cause analysis.

1   The student can examine the international targets of patient security.
2   The student can comprehend and develop the organizational and secure culture.
3   The student can transfer the knowledge related with high-risk and privileged fields in patient security to quality studies in the field.
4   The student can discuss the notification systems and learning from notifications.
5   The student can develop strategies in line with medical mistakes and medical security knowledge.
6   The student can develop the strategies of preventing patient fallings, pressure wounds and infections
7   The student can associate working conditions and worker s health
8   The student can review the ethical and legal dimension of patient security.
