Course Objective

The objective of this course is to provide students with a level of expertise in work measurement and design which will allow them to enhance the productivity of products and processes. Provide industrial engineers with additional tools to better design jobs and the workplace, in terms of productivity while maintaining the health and safety of the worker.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Ability to describe the importance of ergonomic assessment and job safety
2   Ability to describe how the demands on the worker when performing a job can be assessed from an ergonomics perspective
3   Ability to describe how the equipment used when performing a job can be assessed from an ergonomics perspective
4   Ability to describe how the information used when performing a job can be assessed from an ergonomics perspective
5   Ability to describe how the physical environment related to a job can be assessed from an ergonomics perspective
