Course Objective

The objective of this course is to introduce students to the subject of Management Science, and a variety of management science models, methods and computational procedures that are helpful in solving management problems in Finance, production and operations management, Accounting, Marketing, Operational Research, etc.
Emphasis is placed on the use of spreadsheets (specifically Microsoft Excel) for the solution of managerial decision making problems faced in real life.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to define different types of managerial decision problems
2   To be familiar with spreadsheet modeling
3   To be able to model different problems faced in both service and manufacturing systems using spreadsheets
4   To be able to solve business problems using spreadsheets
5   To be able to define and solve real life business problems using spreadsheets
