Course Objective

The objective of this course is to provide students a conceptual understanding of the ways in which technology is brought to market. It introduces students key technology and innovation management topics. It provides frameworks, methods and tools that are both theoretically sound and practically useful for analyzing how firms can create, commercialize and capture value from technology-based products and services.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understand core issues of technology and innovation management and the practical means of dealing with them
2   Ability to identify the challenges that managers face while managing technological innovation
3   Ability to define the ways in which technological innovation can be managed effectively
4   Ability to select appropriate technology and innovation management methods in different contexts
5   Ability to explore the environment for technical and economic opportunities for innovation
