Course Objective

The objective of the course is to provide needed technical knowledge for selecting the appropriate pump for the geothermal district heating systems by explaining to classify the hydraulic machinery, pump
characteristics, serial and paralel connections of pumps, working without cavitation to students.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Describe the basic principles of the pumps.
2   Define the basic working principles of the pumps.
3   Interpret the pumps efficiency curves.
4   Calculate the system characteristics.
5   Select appropriate pump for the geothermal district heating system.
