Course Objective

The aim of the course to give knowledge about railways, railway vehicles and geometrical properties of railway route. Also it will give knowledge about railway superstructure design principles and traffic estimation.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To recognize and classify railway vehicles, railway transport properties and activities.
2   To describe necessary facilities and features for railway infrastructure.
3   Railway capacities and estimate the factors with main lines that affect the capacity.
4   To compare railway superstructure design methods.
5   To identify deformations in railway superstructure, to decide about maintenance and repair methods.
