Course Objective

The main purpose of the lecture is to define the concepts of system analysis and its applications to the water resources system planning and operations. This course provides an overview of the system analysis techniques used in the field of water resources. System analysis and optimization methods such as linear programming, nonlinear programming and dynamic programming and their applications to water resources systems such as water supply, irrigation and hydropower will be covered.

1   To be able to collect, interpret, apply, and evaluate the data.
2   To be able to solve the problems by using appropriate research methods.
3   To be able to have a critical approach to the gained knowledge and skills at the level of his expertise field.
4   To be able to have a systematic way to export the current developments and his/her work to the groups in and out of the field as written, oral and visual communication effectively.
5   To be able to gain high-level skills in using research methods.
