Course Objective

Microwave spectrum covers a very wide frequency band therefore it has a broad area of
applications. High capacity terrestrial and satellite communications, detecting and
locating air, ground and sea-going targets, air traffic control systems, motion
detection and control and remote sensing, space research, medical diagnostics and
treatment , industrial heating. In this course fist of all an introduction to
semiconducting devices will be introduced, then generation, amplification, modulation,
detection, and control of microwave signals will be given. Design of microwave systems
used in industry, communication, medicine, and defense will be covered.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The students are expected to learn different application areas of microwave
2   The students are expected to understand basics of the wireless communication
3   The students are expected to learn then generation, amplification, modulation,
4   The students are expected to gain basic skills to uderstand microwave systems
