Course Objective |
ARC 5003 Building System Research and Design I is a course, mainly concerned with research on contemporary structural systems and technologies in architecture. This course analyses the building construction and structural systems; investigates the concepts, theories and basic principles. Each student work on an aspect of structural and constructional systems contemporary issues throughout their particular research topic such as mass-housing, mega-structures, airport buildings, exhibition buildings etc. |

Course Policies and Rules |
This is a course relying on group and individual research, presentation of sample designs and group discussion of them in the classroom. After 3th week of the program each student chooses a topic and works separately but all members of the class take part in the weekly discussion sessions. Each student prepares and submits his works in form of a research booklet. |
