Course Objective

Direct methods, Crystal structure solution with Patterson method, crystal structure refinement and analysis, introduction to macromolecular crystallography.

1   Ability of understanding crystal structure solution and refinement concepts
2   Having knowledge of structure factor statistics about crystal structure
3   Ability of expressing Patterson function and its usage in crystallography
4   Determining the phase problem at crstallography and ability of understanding the relationship between direct methods and the phase problem
5   Having knowledge of molecular conformations and determining the possible
6   Having knowledge of protein like macrocrystal structures
7   Ability of using the structure solution and refinement programs
