Course Objective |
Heavy metals among hazardous pollutants could be reached in the marine environment from urban and industrial discharges. Water-soluble compounds of heavy metals are creating environmental problems and also metal pollution in aquatic ecosystem. They provide the potential danger to humans because of persistency, toxicities at high concentrations, tends to accumulate in living tissues and taking biomagnification at food chain in ecosystem. Therefore, monitoring and control of heavy metals in aquatic ecosystems has been estimated as research subject. The purpose of this course is the uptake ways into the organisms and biochemical mechanism of heavy metals, uptake process to human at the top of the food chain and also briefly determination of effects of heavy metal pollution on living organisms. |
