Course Objective

The course aims to present the modern picture of the new developments in the field of marine geophsics. This must be based on a synthesis of the well established older knowledge with the newer discoveries the main topics Marine Crystal seismic studies and measurement techniques.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Having information about marine seismic studies that have been a system using at the geophysics methods.
2   Having skill for applying engineering studies by submarine construction structures.
3   Investigation of submarine faults and doing seismicity studies to aim determine young tectonic structures and having skill evaulate original results.
4   Making tsunami investigation with available and potential landslides and having skill evaulate original results .
5   At first continental shift on the seas surroundings of Turkey and world seas, having skill for investigation about all unlive marine resources with geologic and geophysic methods
6   Taking part at the original studies by using available hardware, software and informatic technologies.
7   Using available hardware and software with ARGE projects.
8   Having skill man power for institution that done sea studies.

Review Sessions will be carried out by lecturer on the last time of lesson at the every week. Homeworks and presentations that done by students will generate base of problems at this sessions. With this, attendance to class discussions of students will encourage.

In the computer applications, data processing program will be introduced for executing data interpretations.Informations are about using of this softwares will be provided by using class applications are related to data interpretation, discussions and resource books that related to data processing method.

Exams will measure skill that is assessment of information about ocean structures. Every exams will contain class material and include assessment are about homework. Studying on the problems and understand these problems of students, there is a condition for completing lesson with success. Preparing presentations about any topic that is related to lesson content and make discussion these presentation in the classroom will be developed their skills about attendance and interpretation to lesson of students.

Assessment Criteria

1. One main topic of every a section will take part in the exams. One or more questions for every a topic will ask to students. Point assessment of exam questions will substantiate by point system that lecturer determines.
2. Extraction point of student attendance will be depended on situation of attendance to lessons, quality of answers to questions which asked by lecturer during lesson and attendance by students for creating education environment.
3. Good attendance for notes that been between two notes will sustain notes to maximum level.
4. Understandable of topic and correction of data assessment results will evaluate through presentation which related to lesson content.
