Course Objective

The interests on carbon nanomaterials have increased in the last decade because of its commercial wide application areas. In the concept of this course, detailed information will be given on the description of the carbon nanomaterials, their production process in laboratory and large scale. The students enrolled to this course will also learn the applications areas of carbon nanomaterials. The student will also prepare a term project to learn detail based on their interested application area of carbon nanomaterials.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The students will be able to explain the definition of nanomaterials and their application areas
2   express the fullerens and their derivatives
3   explain the structures of carbonnanotubes and give examples from their application areas
4   explain the chemistry and production of carbon nanomaterials
5   have general perspective on the science and technology of carbonnanotubes
