Course Objective

The development of boundary layer is very important in certain engineering applications. Flow separation and vortices influence the efficient operation of hydraulic systems. The basic knowledge of the boundary layer is provided. The engineering applications where the boundary layer plays a key role are explained with illustrative examples and the related numerical solution methods are outlined

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To acquire the basic concepts about the boundary layer
2   To be informed about engineering applications of the boundary layer
3   To analyze boundary layer problems by advanced methods
4   To evaluate and interpret the numerical results
5   To make required suggestions for the encountered problems
