Course Objective

This course aims to introduce the fundamentals of social network analysis, presents practical tools to be used in this process and discusses different case studies.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Define fundamental theory about graph theory related with SNA
2   Describe and build basic social networking Platforms
3   Use practical tools to collect, analyze, reduction and visualize network data
4   Design and implement an SNA project for a given domain

7 Types of networks: Random Networks, Small World Networks, Scale Free Networks, etc
8 Static and dynamic networks: network evolution and link prediction
9 Personalized Search and Recommendation systems
10 Practical tutorials with some hands-on practice using a SNA tool
11 Overview of available software for Open Source Intelligence
12 Case Studies: Sentimental Analysis and web mining
13 Case Studies: Network application in politics and administration, Terror Networks
14 Case Studies: Health Informatics, Bioinformatics
