Course Objective |
The field of power electronics in industrial, commercial, residential, aerospace and military has the widespread applications. Power semiconductor devices are the key devices of modern power electronics. A power electronics engineer needs to understand the device for efficient, reliable and cost-effective design of converter. This course is dedicated to give specific knowledge on the power semiconductor switches and power electronics converters for graduate level students. |

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods |
The course is taught in a lecture, class presentation and discussion format. All students are expected to attend both the lecture and seminar hours and take part in the discussion sessions. Besides the taught lecture, the projects supported by the Matlab simulations are prepared by all class members. These projects are presented in the classroom. |
